Many people are proponents of buying locally. When you buy locally, you are supporting the local economy. You are keeping the jobs of the people who make the item, as well as the jobs of the people who support them, such as restaurants and day care centers. You know that these workers are treated according to the laws of the United States, so you don't have to worry about child labor and other human rights violations.

You are also supporting the national economy, since the workers who make the toys and the people who support them will now have money that they can use to spend in the locality.

Generally, you can save on shipping and customs charges. You also have items that meet the safety and compliance laws of the United States, so you can be sure what you are getting.

The best gifts for children are ones that are made locally. When you buy gifts that are made in USA, you support the local economy while delighting your kids.

Searching for Made in USA Items

While we may like to buy items that are made in the USA, sometimes it is difficult to find them. I tried doing a simple search on Amazon for Made in America, but the results included companies with "American" in the name, even though the items were manufactured elsewhere. I then switched to Made in USA as a search term, but again I received items which had reviewers in the USA, and items that mentioned USA in its shipping terms.

Listed below is a list of best gifts for children that are made in the USA. I had to manually search for them. These are toys and games that I found that specifically mentioned that they were made in the USA. There are a few more, but these were the ones I particularly liked.

Hello MT,

We here on this side of the pond love all things American but rarely get to see this side of the product line.

This is a side of Americana that has not made it this side, so far?

All the big toy manufacturers Hasbro etc are represented but not so much these companies.

That gives me an idea Hmm!

Thanks for sharing these great gift ideas.

I would love to know where exactly in the USA these items are made. I think lifting up the cities and states these products come from would do wonders for national pride! Thanks for the hub Millionaire Tips!

Thanks molometer. Most of these products are pretty common here in the states, but you are right, they are relatively small companies. Once they become big, they get the big bucks in mass producing in other countries.

Thanks xethonxq, you are right, it would be helpful to have the specific locality of each product, but I am not sure if all that information is available without some serious digging. It was tough to just get this list together.
